Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose.
Leaving Things Behind in 2025 (and stepping into 2026 with intention)
As we step into 2026, there’s a quiet invitation to pause for a moment. This moment isn’t to become someone new, but to stop carrying what was never meant to come this far with us, things we should have left in 2025 (or maybe even earlier). Sometimes growth isn’t about adding more; sometimes it’s about releasing and clearing what no longer aligns with who we are or who we want to be.
Leaving things behind doesn’t mean you failed. It doesn’t mean you didn’t try hard enough. It simply means your values, energy, and capacity have shifted, and that’s a natural, human process - a HEALTHY human process.
This can show up in many ways:
Patterns that no longer serve your wellbeing (hello late night Netflix binges)
Relationships that feel heavy rather than nourishing
Roles or habits you maintain out of obligation, not choice
Old identities you’ve outgrown
Our bodies often know before our minds do and give us little indications that something isn’t quite right for us: Chronic stress, fatigue, low mood, and restlessness etc. These are subtle whispers that something needs to change. Listening to them, to our body, is a form of self-respect and gentle act of reclaiming your energy.
Spiritually, energetically, physically - leaving isn’t about cutting or rejecting. It’s about completion and gratitude. Those experiences, people and habits served their purpose and now, you get to step into 2026 with clearer space, calmer energy, and more alignment with your higher potential. I often think of the phrase: '“everything in life comes as a reason, a season, or a lifetime”. The older I get, the more I see how time and experience naturally help us discern which is which and gradually helps us in the letting go of what was temporary, until only a few true “lifetimes” remain. And that, I’ve come to realise, is exactly as it should be.
As we release, we can take with us a simple mantra from Friday Night Lights: “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.” Clear eyes to see what no longer serves you, full hearts to honour all you’ve learned, and the courage to move forward knowing you can’t lose when you act from alignment.
Reflective prompts you might try to reflect on what you need for 2026:
What am I still carrying out of habit, not intention?
What quietly drains my energy?
What feels complete, even if it was once important?
How would it feel to trust my energy as sacred?
Growth is often easier with guidance, reflection, and support - and this is a practice we explore in more depth in the Mental Health Kickstart program. For those curious about exploring it further, watch this space - the next round will be opening soon.
Here’s to a 2026 filled with intention, energy, and self-alignment. And remembering, it’s okay to let go of things that no longer serve you. xx
